MASC Board has approved the Fall 2010 inhouse schedule of events.

8/22/10 - First week of inhouse practice
8/28/10 - First week of inhouse games
10/23/10 - Last week of scheduled games
10/30/10 - Make up week for inhouse games

MASC Discount Night at Dicks' Sporting Goods

Dicks' Sporting Goods has offered MASC a "Mars Night Discount", planned for Saturday, Aug. 21st (6pm-9pm).  At this time, all cleats, balls, and other equipment will be discounted 25% to MASC members only.  Furthermore, Dicks will have additional discount coupons of 10% that can be added to any inhouse discounts they offer to the club.  First come, first serve on the additional coupons!!  Thank you, Dicks Sporting Goods, for supporting Mars Area Soccer Club!

MASC to host BG Soccer Camps this summer!

 

Blair Gerlach will be hosting two (2) week-long summer camps for players in the U12 and under age groups.

 

Camp 1:  July 19-22 at the MASC field complex from 9am-12noon

Camp 2:  August 16-19 at the MASC field complex from 9am-12noon

 

Cost is $95/Week with discounts available for families with more than one child attending and for players attending both weeks.

 

All participants will receive a BG Soccer Camp Shirt!

 

Camp content will include, but not be limited to:

-individual skills (touches, turns)

-offensive 1v1 attacking moves and concepts

-defensive 1v1 tactics/body positioning

-striking the ball (inside and outside of the foot, etc)

-older players will work on team shape (technical and tactical ideas)

-movement off the ball (creating space)

-younger players will also focus on some rules and techniques (proper throw ins, etc)

-playing a ball in the air, controlling a ball out of the air

-small sided game play/competition

-Content of camps will be different

 

Registration

Parents only need to include the names and ages of the players they intend to have at camp. No prepayment is necessary at this time.

 

-All formal registrations (including a signed waiver) and payments will be handled at the fields on the first day of camp. Waivers do not need to be signed by parents and can be signed by any appointed guardian at the start of camp.

 

About the instructor:

Blair Gerlach serves as the Coach of the Mars High school Girls Soccer Team and the Director of Coaching for the girls program with Northern Steel Soccer.  Blair has coached for Northern Steel for nine years and has earned a Boys US Club National Championship and a Girls National Finalist Trophy in that time, along with several PPA and PA WEST State Championships. 

 

Blair played for the University of Maryland and Slippery Rock University as well as a trial with the U20 United States Men's National Team.

Club members are welcome to register early for Fall 2010.  Please click on the "register online" button above to enter the registration program.

Early registration will be open NOW through June 30th.  After June 30th, a late registration fee of $25/player will apply.  Payments MUST also be received by June 30th or the late registration fee of $25 will be applied to your account.  Late registration will remain open through July 15th.


If you are registering with Mars Area Soccer Club for the first time, you will be asked to create a name & password to enter the site.  Please WRITE IT DOWN for future seasons.

The annual meeting of the MASC general membership will be held July 12 at 7 pm at the Heritage Creek clubhouse. Elections will be held for the positions of president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, in-house coordinator, travel coordinator,in-house registrar, and travel registrar. 

Nominees are as follows:

In addition, up for vote will be a proposed change to the by-laws that would change the general meeting from July to April and would also change the officers' terms to run from June 1 through May 31.
