COVID-19 OUTBREAK – IMPACT ON OUR SPRING SEASON

UPDATE: MARCH 31, 2020

To all Mars Area Soccer Club families,

As I'm sure everyone is now aware, Federal and State authorities have extended the stay-at-home directives through the end of April.  The Mars Area School District, along with all other schools in PA are closed indefinitely - meaning only that no return to class date has been established, and that school facilities will be closed until at least until May 1st.  Likewise, PA West has suspended all soccer activities through April 30th.

In cooperation with these directives, the Mars Area Soccer Club will be extending the delay to our our 2020 Spring Soccer Season as follows...

TRAVEL SOCCER:

  • PRACTICES:  Travel Soccer practices will be delayed until at least May 1st.  No Mars Area Soccer Club teams will practice prior to this date.
  • GAMES:  Travel Soccer games may begin Sunday, May 2nd.  However, the exact date for the first games of the Travel season are still to be determined.

IN-HOUSE SOCCER:

  • DELAY:  In-House Soccer will be delayed until May.
  • PRACTICES & GAMES:  We are reviewing options for when to begin In-House Practices and Games and are working through the logistics of how to let our kids begin playing as soon as it is safe to do so.

MINI-MARTIANS:

  • DELAY:  Mini-Martian Soccer sessions will be delayed until May.

We are still hopeful that we'll be able to provide a fun and exciting spring season for all of our players.  And I'm sure after this necessarily prolonged period of isolation, our kids will be thrilled to get out there and start kicking the ball around with their friends.  To this end, we will continue to adjust our plans as needed to start the season as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.

This remains a dynamic situation.  Please check our website, social media, and your email for further updates.

President, Mars Area Soccer Club

Are You Getting All our Emails?
by posted 01/01/2020

ARE YOU GETTING ALL OUR EMAIL?

DON'T MISS A SHOT!  LET YOUR EMAIL KNOW WE'RE ON THE SAME TEAM! Staying in touch with each other is really important to us! Whether it's our periodic newsletters, practice and game schedule updates, weather alerts, skills clinic announcements, registration updates, or anything else, we want to make sure that you're up to date and that you know what's going on. Our website (http://www.marssoccer.org) and our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/marssoccer/) are both important ways we can make general announcements. But email remains our primary means of communicating with everyone. When we need to be in touch with you directly, or when we need to make sure everyone sees something really important, there's just no substitute for a good ole' email.

And we use email a lot! So, if you haven't heard from us in a while, it might mean something's not working right, and that our email isn't getting through. You might be missing important email from us because, instead of showing up in your "Inbox", they're being sent to your "Spam" or "Junk Mail" folders. This is especially common for Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and Outlook.com addresses. Fortunately, this problem is pretty easy to fix. Usually with just a couple of clicks you can make sure that everything from the Mars Area Soccer Club goes where it's supposed to go - to your inbox!  So, here's how you can you let your email know we're on the same team!

SETTING UP A "WHITE LIST" Setting up a "White List" will ensure that you see everything from the Mars Area Soccer Club,... and anyone else you want, too. Exactly how you go about this depends on what type of email you're using. To make it easy, we've gathered instructions for most of the email providers out there. Just click your email provider below for instructions on how to "white list" email from the club.
